I documented the technical and cultural heritage of the recently decommissioned Belconnen Naval Transmitting Station through archival research and a series of 14 filmed interviews across three states.
I wrote a booklet on the history of the naval base using the oral histories, prepared the script for a DVD using oral history excerpts and historic photographs, and wrote the text for interpretive signs. The DVD was a flexible product that enabled the history to be captured and made available at a time when the future use of the site was unclear (and therefore other place-based options such as exhibitions or heritage walks were not feasible).
