Client: Land Management Corporation (now Renewal SA), subconsultant for DASH Architects
I undertook interviews to document the social and industrial heritage of the former gasworks and Clipsal sites at Bowden. Eleven key themes were identified that best encapsulate the history of the area. Recommendations were made to the LMC on ways that these historic themes can be incorporated into the new Bowden Urban Village through a variety of media such as: the new built form, landscaping, lighting and public art; heritage trails; museum exhibitions; podcasts; digital stories; smartphone apps; educational materials; and museum/community outreach materials. These recommendations are also being used in promoting the new development.
